This diversity event really didn't appeal to me at first, but as soon as the documentary started I really got into it. This documentary also won several awards which means it must be credible. This particular documentary discussed the immigration into the Arizona territory from mexico. It discussed how many people that try to get into the United States every year and how many people actually succeed. This movie also talked about how the US citizens feel towards immigration.
I found out that hundreds of thousands of Hispanics try to enter the United states every year, but only a small portion actually get in. The obstacles that stand in their way are fences, boarder control officers, and the desert. Lets begin with the desert because this is the main reason that these immigrants don't succeed. Since the the 1996 over four thousand immigrants have died crossing the vast desert landscape. The boarder control officers are the next obstacle that stops immigrants from entering the United States.
The views differ depending on who you ask. In the documentary there were equal viewpoints on if immigration is right or wrong. There was this one group called the minutemen that had over a hundred members that went along the boarder and stopped illegal immigrants. On the other hand there were people that go out into the desert and and leave jugs of water for the immigrants passing trough. So from this video we can see that there are people that oppose immigration and there are people that really don't mind it.
There was another main point on immigration. Illegal immigrants will take on any job to make a living, so they will take the jobs that Americans won't do and work for a lower wage. This means that products in the store are going to be less expensive if Hispanics do the work. On the other hand illegal immigrants get out of paying taxes because they aren't documented workers.
Overall, Crossing Arizona really opened me up to new thoughts and ideas about immigration. Immigrants come to the United States to live a better life and to make a living. I found out that legal immigration is a long process and even if one goes through the process it doesn't mean they will be grated citizenship. My view on immigration is neutral because it really doesn't affect me or my life at this moment. I guess the only thing that bothers me is that they are living off the government and don't really have to pay taxes.

Twitter is very new to me, but I got the main idea about it. I feel like it's very similar to Facebook because you can post comments and add people to follow which is kind of being friends with them. All-in-all my experience using twitter was difficult only because I don't really have enough time to sit and write things that are on my mind. Otherwise, I really think Twitter is an effective tool it the social networking world. Social networking is the new way to socialize with friends, future employers, and your family.
I really enjoy when I do have time reading other people's tweets because it gives me the chance to know whats going on or how people are doing. Having so many social networks such as Twitter, Facebook, and Blogger gets kind of confusing once in awhile. On the other hand, having a variety of networks provides me with the chance to make a presence so employers might notice me.
There were a few points that I really found interesting in the reading assignment on 25 reasons why someone should join twitter. Twitter makes connections was the first thing that caught my mind in this reading because in todays world it's all about the connections you make. It's not What you know, it's WHO you know and social networking is a great contributor to that. Another point in this reading was it's the next big thing. Every year theres always something that people have to be involved in and in todays world social networking is popular

Eagle Scout
I was at my best when I was going for my Eagle Scout award. This award is the highest honor in the scouting program. Being an Eagle Scout doesn't come easy to anyone. Everyone has to go through all the ranks and complete a board of review after each rank. The final step in becoming and Eagle Scout is completing a project that will benefit the community.
The project that I took on taught me time management, hard work, and determination. My project took a total of 203 hours to complete with many volunteers. Making time to help the community makes you the best you could possibly be. Another aspect of this project was finding the funds to pay for the projects. I had to go around to numerous businesses and ask if they were were interested in donating money which gave me speaking skills that otherwise I wouldn't have.
Overall, I felt amazing completing a project from the beginning stages to the final because I know my project will be seen by everyone coming into my hometown and thats a big accomplishment. This project relates to my first semester in college because the preparation that went into the completion of the final project will go into my entire college career. College doesn't come easy and students need to put time and effort into it to get all they can out of college and finishing my project gives me motivation to do so.

Toothpaste
Toothpaste tubes have always stood up on their caps? This isn't a matter of right or wrong it's a personal preference. Everyone has their own way of placing their toothpaste tube. This statement is saying there is no other way to put your toothpaste except for upright on its cap. People might agree towards this statement and some people might disregard it and do whatever they darn right please.
My personal preference towards this issue is that I really don't care how my toothpaste tube is on the sink. All I care about is the fact that i have toothpaste to use. Some people in the world don't have these basic hygienic tools to keep themselves healthy and clean. If the statement that toothpaste needs to be stood up on its cap is important, people are too caught up on the little things and need to focus on the bigger things in life.
Toothpaste isn't really a topic that people need to fret over. Toothpaste is an object that people need to be thankful for and not be so up tight about. In reality I don't think people really care if their toothpaste is upright on its cap. People have bigger things to care about in their lives like how their going to pay the bills or what pair of underwear their going to wear.
In my opinion, the people that really care about this issue must not have anything else better to do but make sure their toothpaste tube is upright. Toothpaste is the last thing people need to worry about because their are issues that go way beyond this topic. These topics could be focusing on getting good grades or having a good social life and take advantage of college life.

People shouldn't be influenced to put their toothpaste upright and on the cap because you won't get anywhere in life when you always take orders from other people. People should do what they think will benefit them in the end and if people think that doing this will make for a better life then go for it.
